Once at Honestea, he sees the little gray sparrow, with her clipped wing in a sling, hair loose in curls down her back. She smiles when she sees Val, though.
Oh, dear. There is a little crease in Val's brow at the sight of the sling, it seems 'worked out poorly' was an apt if perhaps too subdued a descriptor of whatever happened.
He doesn't draw attention to it. He doesn't know her well enough to ask, he knows damn well he wouldn't say anything to someone he knew just as little.
"I have not often had the luxury of choice, but I grew up on simple black tea. We stirred jam in rather than use sugar." So there's definitely more selection here than he's actually ever had. "You?"
"I will try anything once," he says it with a bit of a smile, then adds, "But yes, that sounds lovely. This seems a nice place."
Most of his exploration of businesses her in Duplicity so far has been limited to the club scene, so this is different. He lets her choose where to sit and will sit with her, and old instincts both have him sitting without his back to any exit and without blocking them either.
She notices and recognizes that habit of sitting with good eyelines and access to the exit. Well, she'll put her back to the exit, then, and trust in his awareness.
"The owner's a lovely man, a Dominant named Alfred Pennyworth."
His constant awareness of his surrounds is clear enough, without him ever seeming inattentive to what Ducky's saying. It's a very well trained sense.
He nods as she names Alfred, he'll remember the name and positive judgement. "Perhaps I will come here again."
And he really might, his scene may be more the clubs but that's nightlife and he can enjoy other things. It may make him long for simple meal times with his team where there was almost always tea, but such reminders are inevitable.
He won't turn the line of conversation around to where this started until they have tea to talk over and Ducky indicates wanting to.

Of course. Pick any location you like
[ Not in the least offended. They did both allude to issues with trust before even without something apparently happening. ]

Let's go with Honestea. Let me just tell Kazu where I am going and I will make my way

"What sort of tea do you favor, then?"
