[ Oh Kazu... Val takes a moment to look at the post and what there is of Kazu's conversation with Toby at the time before answering. ]
I suppose that depends by what standards you're measuring. To many I suppose we may as be as good as married, between the permanent contract and our actual romantic commitment. And I'm sure a certain teenager would be calling us an old married couple if she were her to do so, but that's just her.
But by our own standards, which are of course the most important, well, we are still engaged, darling.
There have been multiple posts like this lately, I just don't get it. Obviously I understand wanting to celebrate but an announcement to the whole city when only some people are invited, or asking strangers opinions?
Some people are just a lot less private than you are. You should have seen the amount of public announcements and posts asking for strangers opinions on the Ether on similar matters. It is just how some are.
I always thought those kind of posts were the exception rather than the rule. Or just jerks trying to one up their partner by getting people to say they were right and the other person was wrong. Not the sort of content I've ever sought out. Because I don't get it. There's a difference between finding an unbiased opinion that still has context and random strangers who can't possibly advise on your relationship.
I admit that reading such things was one of my guilty pleasures back when we had the Ether. Of course there much of it was also fabricated for the sake of attention or Ether credit, and was much more distant than things posted by our relatively contained population of LIERs. So here it isn't quite the same. But some people thrive on attention such as this. [ ... ] And some people are simply stupid.
